New Zealand Family Law Plans Now Available

OMPN Team

Open Matter Plans Network

We are pleased to announce that 23 new matter plans covering New Zealand family law are now live in the registry. This marks our second jurisdiction expansion into the Asia-Pacific region, following the launch of Australian plans earlier this year.

Coverage

The new plans cover the core family law practice areas under the Care of Children Act 2004, Property (Relationships) Act 1976, and the Family Violence Act 2018. Each plan has been developed in collaboration with New Zealand family law practitioners and reviewed against current Family Court practice notes.

  • Care of children - day-to-day care and contact arrangements
  • Guardianship applications and disputes
  • Relationship property division (married, civil union, and de facto)
  • Contracting out agreements under section 21
  • Protection order applications and temporary orders
  • Parenting orders and supervised contact
  • Relocation applications

Community Contribution

These plans were developed through our community contribution model. Practitioners submitted initial plan structures, which were then refined through peer review and editorial oversight. Contributors earned reputation points for their work, and several have been recognised on our Contributors page.
